McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton says he is hungry for more titles – Formula 1 news
The 2008 Formula 1 champion and McLaren-Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he wants to win more titles in the sport.
Since his triumph with the team three years back, Hamilton has not won any more titles.
Talking to reporters, the Brit stated, “I have only won the title once and am hungry for more titles, maybe more hungry than anyone else in Formula One.”
Hamilton went on to mention, “It’s easy, I will only get closer to Sebastian if I actually manage to win races with McLaren this season. I must turn my frustration into energy.”
In the 2011 Formula 1 season so far, the 26-year-old driver has won two races. After the 2011 Chinese Grand Prix success, he won another race of the ongoing season at the German Grand Prix.
The 2008 world champion seems to make a lot of struggle for this year’s title since the start of the season.
In the Hungarian race weekend, the team driver had a very close fight with Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Red Bull’s Mark Webber in the closing laps. After putting all of his efforts during the Grand Prix despite of calling for a wrong tyre strategy and a
drive-through penalty, Hamilton finished his race at the fourth place.
He was 48.3 seconds slow on the grid behind his teammate Jenson Button, who was the winner of the Budapest Grand Prix.
After a successful race weekend in Hungary, Hamilton is at the third place behind both Red Bull drivers, Webber and Sebastian Vettel in the 2011 drivers’ championship with 146 points.
The McLaren driver is looking forward to the rest of the ongoing season following his positive Hungarian Grand Prix.
Let’s see how Hamilton manages his upcoming races of the 2011 Formula 1 season after coming back from the August break.
