McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton wins 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has won the 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix after a long battle with Lotus pair of drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean.
Hamilton remained dominant at Hungaroring throughout the weekend and claimed his third pole position in the current season so far. Later, he successfully maintained his lead in the race and scored an incredible victory after taking two pit stops.
The British driver was followed by Raikkonen who showed an amazing performance and secured the second podium finish after setting off from fifth grid position.
The Finnish driver stayed ahead of his teammate, Grosjean who faced a little bit difficulty during the race with the pace of his car. Nonetheless, he secured an impressive third podium finish after taking a start from second grid slot.
Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing tried very hard to secure a podium finish. However, he came 4th in the timesheets and was followed by Fernando Alonso of Ferrari who performed quite convincingly and secured 5th place finish after
starting from 6th position in the grid. Moreover, despite an uncompetitive weekend, the Spaniard is still leading the drivers’ championship with 164 points.
Jenson Button of McLaren secured 6th place finish and was followed by Bruno Senna of Williams. Furthermore, the Brazilian driver remained ahead of Mark Webber who came 8th in the race after quite a struggling weekend in Budapest.
The Australian driver stayed ahead of Felipe Massa of Ferrari who was further followed by Nico Rosberg of Mercedes.
Rosberg remained ahead of Force India drivers, Nico Hulkenberg and Paul di Resta who were followed by Pastor Maldonado of Williams.
The Venezuelan driver was followed by Sergio Perez of Sauber who stayed ahead of Toro Rosso pair of drivers, Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne.
Besides, Heikki Kovalainen of Caterham came 17th in the timesheets and remained ahead of Kamui Kobayashi of Sauber who faced difficulties with finding his true pace and could not score even a single point.
The Japanese driver was followed by Kovalainen’s teammate, Vitaly Petrov who stayed ahead of Marussia drivers, Charles Pic and Timo Glock.
Over and above, HRT pair of drivers, Pedro de la Rosa and Narain Karthikeyan came last in the charts.
It will be important to mention that the seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher of Mercedes had another unfortunate race as he struggled with his car’s setup and could not pocket any points because he was retired 11 laps before the end.
