McLaren head towards Singapore with great enthusiasm – Formula 1 news
McLaren team principal, Martin Whitmarsh has said that they are heading towards Singapore for the night race at Marina Bay Street Circuit with great enthusiasm after claiming victories in the last three grands prix.
Whitmarsh said that everyone in the team is feeling very confident for the Singapore GP after the preceding three races. Moreover, he said that their drivers, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton are well in form while he said that all the team members are pushing
really hard to make the significant developments in the remaining season to improve the pace of the car. In addition, he said that they will stick to their aggressive development process in the season ahead.
“We at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes travel to Singapore with considerable momentum after winning last three grands prix,” he said. “Both Jenson and Lewis's recent performances have given our engineers and designers conviction to keep pushing development through
season. And, make no mistake, there'll be no let-up with aggressive development of MP4-27 until the end of the year.”
Furthermore, he said that they can win both the drivers’ and the constructors’ championship titles in this season if they keep on making the substantial advancements. Besides, he said that it is extremely important for them to perform well in all the races
ahead so as to make their mark stronger in this year’s championship fight.
Over and above, he said that they are positively looking forward to achieve competitive points in this weekend’s race.
“We are continuing to refine and improve our car and have both drivers' and constructors' championships within our sights. Every race from now on will be an important marker, and I'm optimistic that we can once again score good points in Singapore next weekend,”
he added.
Presently, the Woking based team is standing at 2nd place in the constructors’ championship and are the strongest rival of the current leader, Red Bull Racing.
Above and beyond, the competition is very tough amongst the top five teams and it will be thrilling to see whether the British squad will be able to win the championship title or not.
