McLaren team principal, Martin Whitmarsh has said that they have planned to come up stronger with some essential updates in 2012 German Grand Prix which is to be held at Hockenheimring on July 22.
Whitmarsh said that despite the ongoing difficulties, their drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button have performed really well in the season so far. Moreover, he believes that both of them may be feeling pleased with their performances until now.
In addition, he said that they earnestly need to make the significant developments in order to enhance the pace of MP4-27 for the approaching races.
Furthermore, he said that they are trying their best to resolve the problems concerning the tyre management and the aerodynamics. He added that they are aiming to launch some major upgrades which will hopefully improve the performance of their car in the
upcoming race.
“I think the drivers are happy with their job. I think they know what we know, which is that we need to work on the car and make that better. Those are the things that are part of our job. What you can do is learn about the tyres and do a better job with
the tyres because we know they're very significant and bring the upgrade packages as quickly as we can. We've got a reasonable upgrade package for Germany and we'd like that to be a big a performance boost and as successful as we can in fortnight,” he said.
At present, Hamilton is at 4th place in the drivers’ championship with 92 points. Besides, he is behind Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing and ahead of Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus.
