McLaren managing director Jonathan Neale expects exciting season ahead – Formula 1 news
McLaren managing director, Jonathan Neale has said that he is expecting a very exciting 2012 Formula 1 season ahead because of its unpredictable nature and tough competition in the field.
Neale said that they had the most successful pre-season testing programme in this year and they were quite ahead of all their rivals in terms of the car development. Although, he said that they struggled with the lack of pace and tyre management issues during
few races, however, they are positively looking forward to keep on making the significant progress in the forthcoming races.
Furthermore, he said that the battle is immensely tough in the current season as there is a very slight difference of time which separates the drivers amongst the top ten positions. Nonetheless, he said that it is very thrilling for the lovers of the sport
who are having a unique experience of seeing so many different drivers claiming victories in the same season.
Over and above, he said that it is interesting to see how close the fight is going while he said that they are expecting even more ecstasy and enthusiasm in the remaining nine grands prix after the summer smash.
"I think we were probably out-developed round about Easter time by some of our competitors and I think we have out-developed our competitors through June," Neale added. "What happens through July and August is still being played out, so we will see. With
only a tenth or two separating the top ten cars in terms of seconds-per-lap, it is still very marginal. It's exciting for fans and spectators with multiple drivers winning different races and different teams coming to fore and disappearing again and we look
forward to it. I think it's going to be really exciting play out for rest of season."
Presently, the Woking based team is at 2nd place in the constructors’ championship and is ahead of Lotus. Even though, the defending champions, Red Bull Racing have a strong lead over them, nevertheless, they are hoping to fight for the title
in the approaching races.
Let’s see how they perform with their world champion drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button in the upcoming races.
