McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh feels excited after their deal with Honda – Formula 1 news
McLaren team principal, Martin Whitmarsh has said that they are excitingly looking forward to work with Honda after confirming a multi-year deal with them on Thursday.
The Japanese company will provide the Woking based squad engines for their cars from 2015 onwards according to their new agreement. Whitmarsh has expressed that they welcome Honda in the world of Formula 1 once again and are hoping to work well with them
in the future.   
“It's fantastic news for everyone who loves F1 to be able to welcome Honda back,” Whitmarsh said, “Together, we're about to embark on new and extremely exciting chapter in McLaren's history.”
Besides, he said that they feel proud to join hands with Honda which has always been known as one of the most competitive contenders in the history of the sport. In addition, he said that they are highly committed with each other on their way to success
and will work together in the next one and a half year to develop a good partnership before the first race in 2015.
“Like McLaren, Honda is a company with motor racing woven into fabric of its heritage. We're proud and thrilled to be joining forces once more to take on. Whilst both companies are fully aware that we're embarking on very demanding journey together, we're
hugely committed to success of partnership, and we'll spend next 18 months working together to ensure that we're fully established and competitive ahead of our first GP together in 2015,” he added.
Additionally, he stated that they have achieved tremendous results with Honda in the past and will surely achieve great success in the future by working with them.
It will be important to mention that the British team has not been able to attain competitive results in the season so far as both their drivers, Jenson Button and Sergio Perez have struggled with some reliability issues. Nevertheless, Whitmarsh has said
that they are trying their best to resolve the ongoing technical issues and targeting to make some essential developments in their car to come up stronger to compete well with their rivals in the season ahead.
