McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton finishes FP2 of 2011 Brazil GP on top – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton finished the Friday Practice session 2 of the Brazil Grand Prix at the top position, on November 25 at the Sao Paulo racetrack.
After a successful FP1, all the teams participated in FP2 of the 2011 Brazil race weekend. The drivers managed their second practice session runs by using the soft and medium compounds.
The Woking-based outfit driver, Hamilton topped the FP2 by setting the fastest time of 1 minute and 13.392 seconds ahead of all drivers after running at Interlagos.
He was closely followed by the 2011 world champion Sebastian Vettel, who was 0.167 seconds pace off the Hamilton and after running in his RB7 car he ended up in the second spot for the Red Bull Racing team at the end of FP2 in Brazil.
The German’s teammate Mark Webber was at the top position in FP1, but he could not retain his position in FP2, as Hamilton was faster as compared to him.
After running on the sets of medium and soft tyres by Pirelli, Webber ended his second practice run at the third position.
On the fourth place was Fernando Alonso of Ferrari, who was 0.206 seconds off the pace of Hamilton at the end of FP2 of the Brazil Grand Prix on Friday.
Mercedes GP’s Michael Schumacher closed his gap from the top three runners in FP2. After running on the soft and medium tyres, he finished his run at the fifth position ahead of Ferrari’s Felipe Massa, who came at the sixth place in the final FP2 classifications.
McLaren’s Jenson Button dropped down his position in the second practice session of the last round of the 2011 Formula 1 season at Interlagos. He claimed seventh position for the team in the end of the session.
Nico Rosberg of Mercedes GP was at the eighth position in FP2 of the Brazilian GP.
Force India drivers Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta came at the ninth and tenth positions respectively in the final FP2 classifications after running at the Sao Paulo circuit.
Virgin Racing Team and Hispania Racing Team were again found at the back of the field at the end of the session.
