McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton reveals his new manager Simon Fuller
The 2008 Formula 1 World Champion, Lewis Hamilton has recently revealed that his new manager is going to be Simon Fuller, as he confirmed his signing with Simon’s talent agency.
It took Hamilton a year to make a decision regarding his new manager after he ended the working relationship with his father Anthony Hamilton, preceding the 2010 Formula 1 season.
“It was important I took my time to make this decision as it had to be right for my career and my long-term future,” Hamilton said.
Fuller owns a company by the name of XIX Entertainment that also manages football’s David Beckham and Tennis’s Andy Murray.
“I spoke to many interested companies in recent months but I felt Simon Fuller along with his team at XIX Entertainment not only wanted to help me become an even better racing driver, but they also shared my ambitions for the longer term,” said Lewis.
The British driver is looking forward to work under Fuller’s management. Simon is one of the world’s leading talent managers and he is proud to have a sportsman like Lewis Hamilton alongside him.
“He's not only one of the leading sportsmen of his generation, he will I believe become one of the best of all time. It's an honour to be partnering with Lewis in what will be a very exciting stage of his career,” Fuller said.
On the other hand, Lewis’s father is now managing other drivers including Paul di Resta and admitted that his son made the right choice by choosing Simon Fuller as his manager.
He added that this is great news for both his son and Simon before stating that Lewis wisely took his time before making a decision regarding these matters.
Anthony claims that he met Simon Fuller a couple of years back and admitted that he is a potential replacement for him. Lewis’s father is happy to see his son make his own decision after evaluating the current situation.
The 2011 Formula 1 season will commence from the 27th of March when the Australian Grand Prix begins and 4 teams are expected to be running for the titles this year, namely Ferrari, Red Bull Racing Team, Mercedes GP and McLaren Mercedes.
Even though McLaren is not looking so good at the moment in terms of reliability, the team is confident that their new car MP4-26 has a lot of pace in it and after resolving their reliability issues, they are going to be at the top of the game once again
like the 2010 Formula 1 season.
