McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton says he is really determined to win 2011 Brazilian GP – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that after the 2011 Abu Dhabi win, he is really determined to achieve a race victory in the upcoming Brazilian Grand Prix, which is scheduled to be held on November 27 at Sao Paulo.
Hamilton talked about the 2011 Abu Dhabi race weekend and added that winning in Abu Dhabi last week was a fantastic feeling and that the race triumph at the Yas Marina Circuit made him more determined to finish the 2011 Formula 1 season with a victory.
The Brit also mentioned that it would be great to go into the winter break on the back of another win in Brazil, so that will be his aim for the next race weekend.
The Woking-based outfit driver commented, “It's rare for there to be a straightforward race at Interlagos - particularly if the weather plays a role. I hear it's been raining heavily in Sao Paulo at the moment - if it rains on Sunday, anything could happen.”
The 2008 world champion further added that although both the drivers’ and constructors’ championship battle had wrapped up, but he wants to enjoy himself in the last round of the season.
The 26-year-old driver stated that he hopes they will have again a competitive car in Brazil and that they can again do better at the racetrack next weekend.
Hamilton added, “I think we're all set for a great end to the 2011 championship: Interlagos is a fantastic circuit, one of the best on the calendar, and I think the combination of KERS Hybrid and DRS, plus the possibility of wet weather, mean we're all set
for a fascinating race.”
The McLaren driver has won three times in the 2011 Formula 1 season until now. He managed his third race win at the Yas Marina Circuit.
After starting the race from the second position on the opening grid, he came at the top position ahead of his rivals in the end of the Grand Prix.
Hamilton is placed at the fifth place with 227 points in the 2011 drivers’ standings after completing 18 rounds of the season so far.
