Please keep in mind she only has a few years of political experience.

Was it just because of the oil in Alaska, or maybe to sway those stale votes who support Hillary Clinton.

Mcain being 70 some odd years old, if something happened to him, that would put her in the big seat, Are you ok with that?

No doubt she is a smart woman, but really was that a wise choice?

I've added some quick info. for you.

Sarah Louise Heath Palin (pronounced /ˈpeɪlɪn/; born February 11, 1964) is the current governor of Alaska, and is the presumptive Republican vice presidential nominee in the 2008 United States presidential election.

Palin served two terms on the Wasilla, Alaska, city council from 1992 to 1996, then won two terms as mayor of Wasilla from 1996 to 2002. After an unsuccessful campaign for lieutenant governor of Alaska in 2002, she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003 to 2004 while also serving as Ethics Supervisor of the commission.

On December 2006, Palin was sworn in as the governor of Alaska, becoming the first woman and youngest person to hold the office. She defeated incumbent Republican governor Frank Murkowski in the Republican primary and former Democratic governor Tony Knowles in the general election.

On August 29, 2008, Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain announced that he had chosen Palin as his running mate. She is expected to be formally nominated at the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. She would be the second woman to run for vice president on a major-party ticket[6] and the first Republican to do so.

  1. Wasn't it just last week that the Obama supporters were saying that lack of experience does not disqualify someone for office? They only need to be 35 years old and born in America.

Not to mention her limited experience has lots of executive experience, actually running things and cleaning house, which is more important than senatorial experience which does not include introducing any significant legislation.

  2. I LOVE that he picked her.  Obama will absolutely win!!!!

  3. Nope.

    Desperate pick.

  4. Palin stands for God, family and country. Obama"s cult hates anyone with them kind of morals.

  5. She has been on the list since February so they must know something we all do not know. Lets see how her speech at the Convention goes. Peace

  6. Sara Palin has a tremendous lead in experience.

Obama has about 140 days experience in the Senate, much of the time only voting “present” and did not appear to take any great interest in the issues at hand during this period; neither did the rest of them, but this is not a pass for him. It can thus be assumed that his experience equates to sitting in a chair and doing nothing. This in turn translates into about 2 days of experience repeated 70 times, thus accruing only 2 days senate experience during which time decision making was not required, giving him a zero in this category.

In contrast, Sara Palin, as mayor of her hometown and governor of Alaska had, on a near daily basis, decisions awaiting the application of her logic and keenness of aforethought, talents reserved for the great and successful personalities of the political world.

In contrast to that, Barack Obama continued to sit in his comfortable senate seat and do nothing.

As Sara Palin defined it, Obama’s ship never left the harbor while Palin’s vessel embraced by the bright lights of honesty and integrity sailed the wavy cesspool of political controversy and corruption. While true to form, Obama stayed in his snug harbor, and as usual, doing nothing.

  7. She is a strong woman! I think it was a wise choice! It tells all the women in the US. that we have a regular old mom in the white house! She is very nice!

  8. McCain wanted Lieberman.  That was no secret.  The RNC forced him to choose Palin....  If McCain can't overcome the RNC, how can he lead the most powerful country in the world????????

  9. Excellent choice.  She is a strong woman who loves and supports her family, she is not a washington insider, and she has more executive experience than biden and obama combined.  Very good choice.

  10. As a Republican - absolutely not.  I will not vote for him now.  I believe there where several other more qualified candidates to choose from.  Even Karl Rove said McCain's choice could be disaster, and he is the best at this stuff.

McCain can spin this anyway he wants, but he lost my vote.  I am scared of Sarah - I am scared she is going to give Obama the win.  This was a poor attempt to gain votes from conservative Christians and with all the dirt coming out now and more later, it will backfire and McCain will lose because of this.

McCain took a gamble, but this one is going to cost him the election and that upsets me.

  11. I think that both McCain's pick and Obama's pick are both nothing more than ways to votes from a different selection of people. McCain picks a woman- regardless of her experience- that will hopefully pull Hilary fans. The Democratic vote was split down the middle between Hilary and Obama that he wants to pick up the voters that still don't want Obama. Obama on the other hand, sees that as a bi racial man he needs to get on the good side of the people that still like the Good Ol' Boy club. So he picks an old white guy to pick up extra votes of the people who weren't sure about voting a half black man into office.

Either way, we're going to have the first Bi Racial president, or the first Woman VP. ( and possibly president if McCain bites it before his term is up)

  12. she has been in public, elected office longer than obama. she has executive experience running the state of alaska, which has all the same agencies as the federal gov.so she is familiar with the way things are run. cut it how you like, she is the v.p candidate and she has more qualifications and exp[eience than obama. it is mccain vs obama and mccain smokes obama there too.after all, what did edwards bring to the table in 04?
