Mcconnell likely to claim victory in Claiming Stakes
Mcconnell will surely be able to make a big impact and clinch top spot in the 32redbet.Com Apprentice Claiming Stakes, a high-voltage race that is going to take place at Southwell track on Tuesday, April 24.
Capitalising well on his recently-improvised form, the Richard Guest-trained veteran gelding is likely to outplay confidently 8 potential rivals including Arabian Spirit, Sir George, Silenceofthewind, Jack’s Revenge, Bold Marc, Fluctuation, Lakeman and Vogarth.
The Class 6 contest over a distance of 1 mile will start at 5:00 (GMT). A prize cheque of £1,704 is ready for the supposed winner.
Mcconnell has won 10 out of his total 48 starts to date. The seven-year-old experienced horse bagged a couple of consecutive triumphs with reasonable margins during February 2012.
After finishing 5th in a race on March 6, he went ahead to grab 3rd spot each in the two subsequent races on March 15 and 22.
Prior to these classic feats, the talented American runner had registered an epic victory on January 2. Thus, 2012 is proving to be a successful year for him.
The maverick sprinter will unleash a big run in the Claiming Stakes in a bid to add another landmark success to his portfolio. If he runs to his best, his chances to finish first will be as high as 95 percent.
However, Jack’s Revenge can give him a tough time on the track. The George Baker-trained brown gelding holds the highest odds in the betting market. After earning a triumph along with a runner-up rank in May 2011, he proceeded to claim a fantastic success
on October 4. He again finished second in his last outing on March 16.
Fluctuation is also likely to perform well in the race. After breaking his maiden on January 24, 2012, the Ian Williams-trained bay gelding moved ahead to register the second victory of his career on January 31. He gained a classic runner-up rank along with
a triumph on February 16 and March 14 respectively.
