Mcmonagle, Almadaa and Copper Dock attracting big bucks for Dundalk
The www.Dundalkstadium.com Handicap event held at Dundalk is anxiously awaited by horse-racing enthusiasts in Ireland. The track will cover a distance of 6 furlongs, and 10 runners will be competing for the purse of €6,900.
The competitors racing in this event are Mountain Coral, He’s Got Rhythm, Copper Dock, McMonagle, Enigma Code, An Saighdiur, Tsar Paul, Almadaa, Red Army Blues, and Richelieu.
Copper Dock’s improved racing skills are attracting attention. After a 6th place finish in the www.dundalkstadium.com  Handicap on 20 January 2012, at Dundalk, he soon became popular after his first place finish.
He led the race at the same course, Dundalk, on 3 February 2012, in the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap. He set the race course ablaze, as he defeated Rigid Rock, and race favourite, Ability N Delivery.
An Saighdiur, trained by Andrew Slattery, and bred by S Ross, is expected to assume the lead in this race. He finished first on 27 January 2012, at Dundalk in Group Bookings At Dundalk Rated Race, defeating race favourite, Tsar Paul.
Almadaa has also shown progress since last year. He finished 8th in Bookings@Dundalkstadium.com Handicap (Div II) held on 9 December, 2011. The 5-year-old gelding trained by David Marnane, has competed in 4 races in 2012, and finished on the money
in all 4.
He finished as a runner-up on 6 January, 2012, in Group Discounts At Dundalk Handicap at Dundalk, where he was defeated by Hard Rock City.
Almadaa emerged as the victor on 13 January 2012, at Dundalk in the Group Discounts At Dundalk Handicap. With his improving form and his refinement of race technique, his prospects of winning are solid.
Mcmonagle, the 4-year-old gelding is in good form, and he is expected to breeze pass his opponents in today’s race. He is the son of Mizzen Mast, out of mare Dippers, whelped on 7 March, 2008.
Mcmonagle’s performances are on the upward curve since last year. On 20 August 2011, he finished 18th in the Tote Jackpot Races 3-6 Handicap held at the Curragh.
Mcmonagle has shown advancement in his racing style in 2012, as he finished 3rd in the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap on 6 January, 2012. He finished fourth on 20 January, 2012 in www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap, both these events were held at
Dundalk.
With success in every race, he is attracting large bets.
It is speculated that Mcmonagle will show promise in this race, and will keep the front-runners honest. He will bring his best in today’s race with fervour.
Almadaa and Copper Dock are also expected to perform well. These runners will be competing for placed positions. An Saighdiur is also attracting attention because of his outstanding form.
