Me and my best friend where thinking of going to south korea or malaysia sometime next year in 2009?

which one would be more better in terms of cheap food, nice clothes, good weather and what month is good for the holiday. Plus which one has more friendly people

Malaysia has strict laws, it's a Muslim country. It's more beautiful than Korea but you have to research the customs and wear the right clothing in certian areas (if you are female). There is also no free speech even though the government says there is.

Korea's fun, but some of the bigger cities are dirtier than what you'd expect. People there are awesome.

South korea would be more expensive. It's economy is World 13th.

However, south korea has lots of places to visit and look around. If you wanna go korea..October or November cause it's not that hot..and not that cold.

Seoul, the capital of south korea, is the second-biggest city in the world, and u will find it very interesting.

especially, nightlife in seoul is amazing.

korea is for good weather and nice people, but i'm alittle afraid things are getting more expensive for the economy, but i don't know anything about malaysia

I'm not sure about malaysia but i know that south korea is tons of fun!

If you're old enough to go to clubs and stuff; the nightlife in korea would be a lot of fun for you. In korea, the stores usually don't close as early as America. They're are karaoke places, Huge midnight shopping places such as Dong dae moon. (and by midnight i mean it's open from like 10 at night to 7 in the morning~ weird, huh?)

Food is pretty cheap in korea. You could probably get a good dinner for under 10 bucks. but it depend on which places you go... there are places that can be pretty pricey.

And becareful... the malls in korea aren't like the malls here.. They are REALLY expensive... so i would avoid places like that. Even if you don't go there there are tons of other places to shop for cheap and nice clothes!

Transportation is really nice as well. Just take the subway to the general place and maybe catch a cab the rest of the way or walk. It usually isn't too far from the subway station. Also, don't take the black taxis... take the grey ones,.. the black ones are just more expensive~^^

Weather is pretty nice in korea... it has it's extremes. I'd recommend going sometime in july, august, or may I'm pretty sure in june they have a rainy season... make sure you have an umbrella, just in case and also pack alot of light and summer-y clothes!! it get PRETTY hot there!!

Um... in terms of friendly people... if you mean the public in general, i'm pretty sure they're friendly =] if you mean the taxi drivers, shop keepers and people like that~ they're friendly~~^^

They are both neat destinations, but I'd give a thumbs up to Malaysia as it is developing. It's going to be cheaper all around, yet you will still find good fashion. I think the people are friendler there, than in Korea. Because it's so close to the equator there's no winter, meaning that it's almost always a good time to go there, unlike Korea. I'm not trying to influence you away from Korea, as it's an amazing country, but choosing beteen the 2 I believe you would be better suited to go to Malaysia.

PS The Petronas Twin Towers are neat too...

I personally prefer Korea but Malaysia is definitely better as a holiday destination. You can get some excellent package deals. Try heading for Borneo.
