what we did was take a gardin hose like 4 feet and cut the metal part off. it fit in there fine but after a foot or so it wouldent go further so we tryed sucking the end and got nothing but gas fumes(which hurt my lungs and made me dizzy) the hose fis but i was wondering if there is a certan way to turn it or somthing to make it go in further it has like half a tank. i dont think the size is the problem but i need to know how to manuver it so it gets to the can

  1. Most cars these days have check valves in the fill tubes. This prevents gas from pouring out in case of a roll over accident. In other words, you can't get the hose down into the tank.

  2. just simply cant be done

  3. no no no, don't do any of that. Just ask the buyer if they would pay for a full tank of gas on your other vehicle since you're kind enough to be selling to them.

  4. First off - This is medically dangerous. Gas fumes can cause unconciousness. And you don't want to know what happens if you ingest liquid gas into your lungs or stomach. It involves Hospitalization and drinking charcoal. There's nothing they can do for gas in the lungs.

Second - your using too big a hose. Your never going to get that hose past the rollover valve in the tank. Use a smaller CLEAR hose and cut the end on an angle.

Third - if he wants the gas he should be sucking on the hose.

If the car is fuel injected there is an easier way. Just tie into the return line going back into the tank and let the cars electric pump do the job for you.

  5. This gas tank is fitted with a device to prevent exactly what you are trying to accomplish. It has a anti siphon device.

  6. try looking it up on youtube or somewhere else on the internet that can tell you how to do it

  7. It wont work ---- At the bottom of the filler tube near the gas tank is a ball. What it does is this..... Lets say the car tipped over in a rollover accident the ball would block the filler tube while the car sits upside down. This prevents gas from spilling all over the place..... That is whats blocking the hose / tube from getting deep enough into the tank to siphon the gas.....

  8. You can't stick anything in the gas tank anymore, there is a device in the filler pipe that stops you from doing that.

  9. I think the principal you're trying to apply is siphoning, which is exactly what you are supposed to. What you have to make sure of is that the tank containing the fuel is higher than the can you're trying to put it into. After that, you're going to have to find a way of creating a suction on that pipe until the fuel starts to emerge. Have you thought about using an old hoover and fixing it onto the end of the pipe you should suck on?

    Good luck,
