  1. BOOT - Adults should look for leather boots with a leather lining. The leather will breathe as your feet get warm from skating and the double layer of leather will provide support for an adult-sized body. If you expect to skate a lot, go for padding between the leather layers. Avoid any pleather skates (all plastic or some combination of leather and plastic). Some competitive skaters use microfiber boots, which are not leather but breathe, provide support and are lightweight to facilitate jumps and spins. They are specialized equipment and cost more than many leather boots.

FRAME - Look for a metal plate/frame under the boot. Ask for 7mm axles, because more adult quad accessories are available for this size. Make sure that each truck (the t-shaped thing that holds the wheels) has 2 cushions which can be adjusted to control your ability to maneuver and turn. One option that is worthwhile is adjustable toe stops... a threaded extension on the front that accepts many sizes and styles of toe stopper.

WHEELS - Make sure that the wheels are not the cute, hard, shiny plastic ones. A good set of dance wheels are nice for an adult.

BRANDS - Many rinks offer Riedell brand skate packages that have good boots and plates with decent wheels and good prices. Riedell's lower end boots may be plastic, so avoid them. Sometimes the on-line prices will be better, but you will not have the advantage of service available at a rink's pro shop. Bones brand wheels and bearings are always a reliable choice.

EASY SHOPPING - Go to your local rink with this printed out and they can show you samples, prices and other similar options. Most sporting goods stores will NOT carry skates like this.

  2. ones that fit ;) haha jk jk well you dont really need a brand their all just facy but i personally go for the cheap ones you dont need a brand their all the same comfort and everthing i havve practically every skate you can possibly have ;) haha but otherwise usually at skating places you can rent some for like 5 dollars ;) (unless your going around the park) hope it helps :D
