  1. if you both have indefinite LTR then yes the child will have Biritish citizenship.

children are NO longer entered on the parents passports. They MUST have their own passport.

"indefinite leave to remain" in UK is the same as permanent resident or green card status. so yes their child WILL be allowd to have British citizenship.

  2. As you both have ILR then yes, your child will be classed as a British citizen.

  3. I don't get it:

"have indefinite leave . . ." can means you are (both) UK citizens?

    I do not think so.

Your child shall definitely have a British Certificate of Birth, but I wouldn't be sure this may mean she will be automatically a British Citizen.

Or, the probability is very high for your child to have a Pakistani Birth Certificate at your Embassy in UK !!!

Anyhow it is also possible for any of both cases that you shall have to fill in one of your passports for your child unless you do ask - if you shall have this possibility - for her citizenship; case you'll have a separate passport for her.

Maybe because of the condition you get in UK, you may prevail of some rights to ask for her British citizenship though.

  4. Its my Wife and I...

  5. Yes, any child born to a peranet (or parents) that are permanently settled (i.e. have ILR) in the UK automatically obtains British citizenship at birth.

You will have to apply for a new British passport for the baby, if you want it to travel as a British citizen Whether or not Pakistani laws allow her to be entered in your Pakistani passport I do not know.

  6. He/she may have dual nationalty, not sure though:)
