Me and my wife didn't have any taxable income because of my deployment. will i still get the tax rebate?

  1. If your qualifying income was $3000 or more (combat zone pay is qualifying income), you qualify for $600 for the two of you.

    However, you may need to check the applet at irs.gov--if it erroneously says you don't have enough income, file a 1040X, write "please calculate my rebate.  my combat zone pay was $$$' in the explanation area.  If you had *any* wages in line 7 and the total was less than $3000, the rebate program seems to skip over you.


  2. Only if (1) you filed a tax return and (2) you had enough "qualifying income" (which includes certain non-taxable income).
