  1. There are approximately 2 US dollars for each UK £, or Great British Pound, GBP, your abbreviation.

So, you're getting a job for around $30,000 per month - this is way above the average, and would allow an incredible standard of living. Exchange rates fluctuate, so you may also want some guarantees written into your contract over this too.

Ensure that you get accommodation provided / cost reimbursed for a couple of months too, to allow you to settle in.  If the job is permanent, you'll be subject to UK taxation.

A final tip is to ensure that your flight home costs are included too -  either if you get sacked etc. As travel costs to the US, at the last minute, can be costly - but on that salary, you'll afford Business Class travel!

    Good luck!

  2. GBP means Great Britain Pounds - or sterling (sometime called UKP UK pounds.  Currently 1UKP = 2.1 USD

Are you sure it is 15000 per month or per year, the average UK salary is 25000 GBP per year.... so this is very high for average.  Is that each or for the two of you?

So you are talking about a salary of 180,000 UKP or 378,000 USD

That us WAY over usual.... the director (CEO) of a medium size company only gets around 120,000 per year...

If you have your numbers right - any jobs going???

  3. That means you and your wife are earning US $31,000.00 per month in London. Go for it!
