My husband will study in Windsor University for his PhD, i need to know about everything possible.

How much money we need for living every month?

How are the schools?

How is the shopping?

How Arab people are managing there?

what is the cost of houses there?

any information would be useful for me

I'm from South-East Europe and I'm in Canada ( Guelph, ON ) from 2007 with my familiy.
1.I'm not sure are people on Student Visa authorized for any work-you should CHECK that
2.Jobs-as Newcomer you can find job for $8-12 (8Hrs/day) ; work for cash is very hard to find and it's very risky-not recommend that
3.before you get Landing Immigrant status there is NO money support from govermment
4.Costs :
  2-bed apt. $ 850-1000  monthly (hydro,heat included)
  Phone,internet+cable tv $150 monthly
  Insurance for car $100-150 monthly
  Car ,10-15 years old cost $1000-3000
  Monthly Bus pass $63 for one person (you will need bus for work and school before you can buy a  car and get Ontario Drivers License ; school bus for elementary school is free )
  Food-min.$50 weekly if you cook at home
  School for kids is free
Also,when you move into apartment it will be almost empty (only fridge and stove in the kitchen are included).
For furniture (beds,table,chairs ) I recommend Garage sales or visit site : www.kijiji.com/canada  .You can find  good and cheap used furniture there.All depends how much money you'll bring with you.
5.Racism-I didn't see any here (I'm white guy);Canadians are usualy very nice and helpfully people
