  1. Go to www.spain.info and you will find out more. Or go to your local library there will be various books on the island. As for the weather you can go to www.wunderground.com which is a weather site and you can even put your dates in and it will predict the weather going by previous years. One thing is for sure if your holiday is the first 2 weeks of Sept then it will be very hot indeed, the last 2 weeks should drop off some so should be more bearable.

We that live in Spain always think it's made dogs and Englishmen (and women) that come in the height of the summer as it's totally unbearable. I've lived in Spain 16 years and was a total sun worshipper before I lived here, now I seek to stay in the comfort of my air conditioned home in August. We are never satisfied are we?

Another very important tip is BE CAREFUL of severe sunburn, I've seen some really critical cases with kids not getting creamed up enough. Wear a hat, high factor sunscreen and don't drink too much alcohol in the sun. Sorry if I'm sounding like your mother, but if you are fair skinned you will thank me later.

Have a great time. Every year I think....I must catch the ferry and go to Ibiza for a week, but every year I don't manage it, the beach is a short walk from my house, but Ibiza calls me somehow....I'm no teen either I'm a gran, maybe next year eh?

  2. ibiza is a great place ,hot weather and depending what you want there is a choice of areas to stay . we stayed in es-cana and we loved it.

  3. Ibiza is great.  As previously advised only go to San An if you want to club.  For the real flavour of Ibiza, go to Es Cana,  Santa Eulalia, Cala LLonga or Portinax.  The weather in September is usually good - warm and sunny.  Can be quite windy sometimes though.  Have a good holiday.

  4. Its still very Hot, Humid and sticky just like agust until at least mid to final september...

    Take care..

  5. I was there in August and it was stinking, horribly, nastily oppressively hot and humid - even at night it barely cooled down. (Do you get the impression I was uncomfortable?!!!!!)

September might be a little more bearable but just in case, make sure the place you stay has air conditioning (ours didn't!) and preferably a private pool. Unless you like mixing with drunken/stoned teenagers, stay on the east side of the island which is still very touristy but not as clubby and juvenile as the San Antonio side (San Antoni as the locals call it - they have their own dialect which is different from Spanish).

It's not a big place and totally tourist-orientated, very easy to get about, but I recommend a visit to Santa Eulalia which has a lovely beach and great little shops. Ibiza Town is nice too. Oh, and be sure to hire a car! You might struggle to get an automatic though, in Spain they think only g*y men drive those :-D
