  1. Well that's too bad. You will need to wait until you have your own house and are able to promise the pet a place to live for life. If you break the agreement of the lease, you will be forced to move or give your pet away. The option being that your pet would go first which would make you an irresponsible pet owner.

  2. If your house is a rental.. and you get a dog.. your landlord can evict you.

You will just have to wait until you find a home where you are allowed to have a dog.

  3. If you have a dog and it's not allowed in the lease, you could be evicted and possibly forced to pay for assorted things the landlord decides need to be done to the apartment because of your dog.  I had friends who violated their lease by having pets, and they were forced to get rid of their pets and pay for re-carpeting the apartment when the landlord found out.

  4. Well, if you get a dog when you are not allowed to have one you can be evicted.  How quickly you can be evicted varies by state, and the landlord may also be able to fine you other penalties and keep your deposit (depending on your state).

  5. It will be lots of fun having a dog when you're living in a van down by the river, won't it? If you get a dog your landlord has every right to evict you. Wait until you're in a house that allows pets.

edit: Don't you get it? It doesn't matter if you can take care of the dog. If your landlord won't allow dogs there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. If you get a dog you'll probably lose your home, it's as simple as that.

  6. you can be kicked out of the house for not respecting their wishes
