I got 2 new lionheads yesterday and tonight I noticed that whenever I walk into my room they are in the same spot.....I see them both on one side of the tank just kinda staying there but when I walk up they start swimming around. Are they just tired should I turn their light out and let them rest?

  1. yea, they may need sum time out of the light, but don't let the temp drop b/c of the light...make sure you have the w/e? set right so it warms and provides w/e

  2. I would turn the light off and let them rest. After I get a new fish (goldfish or tropical) I leave the lights out for about 3 days. They might still be stressed, give them a few days to get used to the tank.

By the way, congrats on your new lionheads. I saw your other question where you posted some pics of them...they're adorable!

  3. Some fish prefer the dark. Plus, leaving your light on makes more algae grow.

  4. well maybe they dont like you!! Jk girl. you should try and turn off the light and see what happens ok. :)

  5. thats how fish are. When they are very still they are sleeping.

  6. turn their light off. fish have to sleep like us too. how would you like to sleep with a birght light on above yer head?

  7. test your water with a test kit

and how big is the aquarium

it should be 30 gallons minimum

  8. Since you just brought them home, they probably are just adjusting to the new environment. I have a red-bellied Pacu and when I first brought it home, it refused to do anything other than sit under the filter in its tank...even now, that spot is like its "safe place" to go. I'd say just give them some time.
