Ok, so you might have heard about our mom getting cancer. Well, we started chemotherapy at UPMC and my mom thought that they didn't want to use medicines that would work better for her. My mom and Dad decided that they want to go to the AM D andersan. Sorry if i spelled that wrong. Well, We are all going to Houston, but We will have to come back early before school starts. So my question is, can kids under 14 go on a n airplane alone? if so, how do you relieve the stress on being a plane alone?

  1. I'm sorry to hear your mother has cancer I know that it can be very hard. Yes you can fly when you are alone under 14. the first time i flew alone i was 10. (you can be younger). just listen to a ipod/mp3, talk to your siblings, read a book, ect.

  2. With the majority of airlines, you'll be classified as an "unaccompanied minor". As long as the airline provides this service you should be absolutely fine, but it does need to be prebooked through the airline or a travel agent.

  3. First of all, my warmest wishes to you and your family, being a cancer survivor myself, I can understand what you are going through.  Big love to you all!

Secondly, you will be taken care of by the airline you fly on.  My 10 year old God daughter flies alone each summer and loves it.  She gets escorted by her own "Air Hostess", gets games and magazines and toys - free.  The care is amazing.  In fact, by flying alone you get a special experience of being a VIP.  (Cause you ARE).  There is plenty to do on the plane, watch a movie, chat with other kids on board, snacking is always fun, even looking out the window listening to your favourite tunes is fun.

Hope this helps - check out the website for the airline you are flying on and they will have more useful information for you.

Take care, good luck and big hugs to your mom.

    Peace!
