Meadowmount or Interlochen?

Question

For all of those who attended Interlochen and Meadowmount, or both, would you please give me your feedback? I'm trying to decide between the two for cello and your opinion would be greatly appreciated. I saw Yo-Yo Ma was on the Alumni for Meadowmount and that was impressive. Were any of them too intense? Or was one of them too casual? Thank you so much!

Hello! I am glad to have found your question.  I went to Interlochen my senior year of high school for the flute.  Let me tell you, it was AMAZING! I wish I would have known about it 3 years earlier to have spent my whole high school education there.  

Musically wise, it was wonderful and inspiring.  I finally had a chance to be around truly gifted musicians who wanted to be there, who wanted to practice, and wanted to get better everyday.  

The teachers were great, and as a music major you have many classes, not just band ( in my case ).  I also took a theory class, and we always had a studio class with just the flutes.  

Not only that, but almost every week there was some sort of concert that one of the groups were performing.

It is a beautiful scenic place, and so inspiring to make you want to discover more about yourself and the music you play.  

I don't know anything about the other school you asked about, but I can only tell you in my opinion that you will not be disappointed in the education from Interlochen!
