there are 18 of us going for a meal tomorow, we had to pay a deposit of £5 each. when we booked the table we didnt know how many people were going to go so we booked for 25. everybody wanted to pay £6.80 so on the day they would only have to pay £5. when i went into to pay the deposit today though, the lady said so thats £5 deposit for 25 people making that £125, i gave her the money, cause in total i had £129 which i had collected off people. because there is only 18 of us going will we lose the other deposits or will they take that off the total please help, im really worried that everybody is going to have to pay more!

  1. My guess is you shouldn't lose any of your deposit. Most places that require a deposit for large groups just want them so they don't end up holding a large chunk of tables and have no one show up and are out the money they could have made seating people there. This will still depend on their policy's I'm sure if you call them and ask they will tell you and if you call them be nice and tell them it's going to be 18 instead of the 25.
