  1. They will get used to each other in a few days. Trying to insert a rooster into a flock is much the same. They will always be picking on the new kid in town.

  2. they should get used to each other I have 31 older chickens and then I got 10 younger ones and the big ones picked on the little ones at first but they are starting to get along better now

  3. that's really weird. i have known chickens attacking people or fighting for A reason but not just randomly

  4. Try just introducing her into the cage when it's dark. Chickens won't do much when it's dark, so they can get accustomed to her when they won't all gang up on her..  Put her up with to sleep with the other chickens, and then take her out in the morning..

Hopefully after a few days, they'll adjust to the newcomer. Chickens tend to peck a lot more when they're bored or if they feel overcrowded. Are you sure the space you have is large enough for another hen? Do they have stuff to keep them busy? Something as simple as scattering a cup of cracked corn in straw/hay so they have to look for it can help keep them busy so they don't start pecking..  Just watch out to make sure she doesn't end up with any bald patches, a bald patch can pretty quickly escalate to cannibalism..

  5. maybe starve them for a day and then introduce the new one at the next feeding, they'll be too preoccupied to notice.....or maybe the new chicken is the anti-christ and they know it.

  6. dunno never had a chicken never will =P
