Mean rich girls in Chicago?

I live on the North Shore of Chicago where the movie Mean Girls took place. I was wondering about the worlds opinion on it now. Did the movie give you the impression that we're all brats??

No, I kind of wondered why they chose to make the setting there. There are people everywhere that can act stuck up/bratty like that. As the poster above me mentioned, I would have expected the movie to be set in someplace like Beverly Hills or maybe even an upscale borough of New York rather than the North Shore of Chicago.

No, I've seen the movie a couple of times.  Never even paid attention that it took place in Chicago.

When I think of the type of people in the movie, I think more of the stereotypical southern cal girl.
