In one of the verses of his song, Tie My Hands Ft. Robin Thicke, he says Knock on the door, Hope isn't home, Fate's not around, the luck's all gone. Is there a meaning to that quote? if so, what is it?

He's basically saying that he was searching for hope, for fate...and it wasn't around so that must be that all his luck's gone...All his people's luck is all gone in New Orleans when the flood happened...they were looking for hope and there was none....great song
