Meaning of Rising Sun?

Question

I want the meaning in a very specific way... I'm not lokking for the JAPANESS RISING SUN....I'll make it simple...does rising sun mean anything?

It can mean something; as well as the imagery associated with dawn, a House of the Rising Sun can mean either a brothel or a prison.

Like all natural phenomena, it means only what you read into it. It would happen whether or not you are there to see it.

There is a house in New Orleans, It's called the rising sun....

The house of the rising sun, is a house of ill repute. (a w***e house)

It's not the rising 'sun' but 'son'.

There were many of these houses in the french quarter of New Orleans a long time ago.  Many marked by 3 ornate cherubs in the plaster of the gate posts.  

Men used to take their sons to these places as a rite of passage, to 'rise up' into manhood.

That's the meaning I know.
