  1. Inflation is simply a fall in the value of currency, so that your money buys less for a given amount.  This is the same as saying that things cost more.  Ang is incorrect in saying that salaries aren't included, in that inflation includes wage and salary inflation, although she is partly correct if she just means that there isn't much wage and salary inflation right now.  But inflation always winds its way through the whole economy sooner or later.

In a general sense, inflation is bad for people who save and invest and own, and good for people who have debts greater than their assets.  (Because the debts get paid back with currency that is worth less.)

But in a broader sense, inflation is bad for all of us past a certain modest level.  (I say 'past a certain modest level' because we do not want to flirt with a general deflation -- that being potentially far worse in its effects than inflation.)

  2. inflation is when prices increase and salaries stay the same. making it harder to buy goods and services.  interest rates usually increase making borrowing harder.  unemployment decreases.

at this time we have prices increasing and interest rates decreasing. unemployment is increasing.

gas prices are causing this bad time we are having now.

    this is a bad recession

  3. In saving money, inflation is your worst enemy because the value of money decreases while the amount stays the same. In investing which is a very broad word, it may be good or bad depending on your situation.
