Meaning of repeating dream?

Question

In the dream, there is a battle going on over a large wide river. I'm sailing across the river with a person in the boat with me (Never actually see their face). About halfway across there is an explosion, and the boat breaks. I suddenly feel terrified, and sink. No matter how hard I try to swim in my dream, I keep sinking. The other person sinks too. After sinking for a while, I usually wake up. Any idea's?

The dream has been repeating for the best part of 3 months and I must have dreamt it at least 10 times.

The river in our dreams represents the emotions that flow through us. We can go with the flow of hte river, which means that we are at ease with ourselves and confident about where life is taking us , or we can drown in it - that is, drown in despair anad a sense of being overwhelmed. Think about whether you are just floating along in your life journey, being tossed about or are taking control.

Some theorist believe that recurring dreams are due to lack of action in the dreamer's waking state. One of the reasons for dream interepretation is to solve threse problems.

are your parents fighting or going through a divorce? it sounds like people around you are fighting and you don't know what to do about it, or feel overwhelmed and out of control... i dont know anything about you though, so it could be anything :) thats just what it sounds like to me.

The river is life.  The boat is your your life.  You feel unsure right now about your life.  You are afraid or uncertain that what you are doing or plan to do for your life is going to "float."  The other person in the boat represents the others that are depending on you to succeed.  You are afraid of letting them down or failing.  Listen, failure in not the worst thing in the world.  It is an opportunity to start afresh and anew.  Those who love you will be there no matter what.  Those who leave weren't worth keeping.

Resolve to steam ahead and believe in yourself.
