Does anyone out there know the meaning of this term? I've heard it means "the perfect girl" and I've also heard it means "sweet p***y". Does anyone know?

  1. Mango is Cuban slang and means : good looking , nice guy or girl , it's a compliment a bit the same as guapo . As far as I know it's used for both men and women. The problem with Cuban slang is that it is used in different meanings and intonations , you realy need a Cuban to explain all the details.

  2. It's an affectionate/cute term and doesn't have any sexual innuendos nor is disrespectful.

It's along the lines of 'my sweet', or as Beardo mentioned, 'my darling', even as you said 'the perfect girl'.

*Edit: I haven't heard it used in an aggressive form by aggressive men. It's been used on me and I know the difference between aggressive and a 'come on' comment from a respectful compliment. And it was always respectful.

But I suppose anything can be used and changed for one's own purpose.

  3. Normally "mi mango" is used something like "my darling" whilst mango can be used to refer to an attractive person of either s*x.

papaya is used to refer to female genitals

  4. I usually hear it in reference to a very attractive woman. Have also heard the variation of it as "Mangon". It is used more by more aggressive males (and/or chulos) as opposed to more educated and/or respectable Cuban men.
