Meaning of this quote: "We accept the love we think we deserve."?

If we think we deserve something we will try and get it, for instance if i think i deserve a loaf of bread i will try to get a loaf of bread and no matter if someone else doesn't think i should have the bread, i believe i should so i will still try to get the bread. Basically its the belief that 'If i think i am right, then i am right'

Some people think they are worthless so they settle for  abusive love. Others think they are a King or Queen and will settle for no one who isn`t prepared to treat them like one. Basically,if you have a sense of self worth you will attract those that will respect you,and if you don`t you won`t.
