Rick Mears - Pole

A.J. Foyt, Jr - Middle

Mario Andretti - Outside

Would you say that is the greatest Indy 500 Front Row in history? It happened in 1991...Rick Mears, of course, went on to win his 4th race also...

What's your favorite Indy 500 Front Row?

  1. I've gotta agree 100%!  That's the best front row I've ever seen.

  2. Yeah that was a good year..

The second row in that same race is probably better than many other races front row....

    4-Bobby Rahal

    5-Michael Andretti

    6- Al Unser Jr.

  3. I think it is the second best front row ever!

  4. You must be old school.Thats the drivers I used to watch and loved it.

The only thing I could possibly add would be Al Unser Sr.

because He won 4 also. I would put Mario on the 2nd row.

Also I always liked Gordie Johncock and Tom Sneva.

  5. I can't contend your choice of best front row.  I only regret not having been there...

  6. That had to be the best front row ever, including Penske's sweep a few years ago.  EJ has a point there.  There was more talent in those 2 rows alone, than in most Indy 500 fields.

  7. I won't argue against that. It's one heckuva front row.

  8. now that is racing

that is the best front row ever
