  4. Hi there

A knot is the correct term which is 1.15 mph.

  5. Knot.  This term came from the good old days of sailing vessels when a rope with knots tied at specific distances apart and some type of resistance device tied on the end was trailed behind the boat, and the navigator would see based on the boat speed how many knots would pass during a specific amount of time.  This could then be converted into knots per hour.  Over time and with better ways of measurement this was converted to a specific speed that equals about 1.15 miles per hour.

  6. knot. not naught.

  7. knot or some various spelling but that's the word and I think the spelling.

Yeah, I just looked it up and it's knot. It's about 1.15 mph.

  8. Knot is used in salt water,  Statute miles per hour is used on the Great Lakes, ICW and US Rivers.
