  1. When measuring for curtains you need to allow for matching up the pattern, ( unless it is plain fabric.) generally you need twice the width of the window to make they hang nice and pull across to meet.

Any assistant worth their salt will know exactly how to measure up for you, just take in your dimensions, and they will help you do it. metric, imperial whatever!

    simple!

  2. How much material you need will depend on the type of heading you are having on the curtains and the pattern repeat on the material you choose.

I would say that each curtain will need to be 1 1/2 drops for them to look nice and full, allowing for headings and turnings you will need about 6.5 metres for a plain curtain and more if you choose a large pattern repeat.

Any good furnishing shop or department store will be able to advise you.  You won't look silly asking for help and you may even find a pair of ready made curtains which would save an enormous amount of work.

    105" is 266.7 centimeters

    62" is 158 centimeters

Most material is about 52" wide.
