  1. plantation, as trees/plants gives oxygen to and takes carbon di oxide, as much as possible reducing vehicles etc.

  2. Stop drinking soda pops. Every time you open one you release CO2 into the atmosphere. Ditto for beer. Organize your friends, get them to sign a pact... no more fizzy liquids.

Then mount a campaign... Flat is Where Its At.

Together we CAN save the world from evil CO2!!!

  3. Recycle, that's the easiest beginning step. and switch from water bottles to nalgine bottles. possibly, take the bus or ride a bike....or if you have time, walk [you're also excercising too]. Switch your lightbulbs to flourescent ones [Nstar can help]...that's all i can think of at this moment.

  4. You've got two routes.  One, reduce your carbon emissions.  This would be done by driving less, using less electricity, buying fewer consumer goods, etc.  On the other hand, you can also offset your output by planting trees, etc.

One final note, the whole global warming concept is tenuous at best.  No one has any clue why the earth is warming and what if anything people have to do with it.

  5. The best action we can take is to reduce the Emission by walking for some of the works instead of using vehicles to all the place we can walk upto nearly 2-3Km and then it will reduce both the traffic and also the Green House Gas emission by the Vehicles to a large extent around the World.

  6. Plant trees which use carbon dioxide & release oxygen to cleanse the air.

Instead of lawn, have more native/natural groundcovers like ivy, bugle, etc. & more garden beds with trees, shrubs, flowers & vegetable plants.  If you have less lawn you won't need all the oil & gas for a large mower.  You could even use a reel mower instead of a gas powered one.

Decrease your consumption of energy by unplugging all appliances when you're not using them (leave your refrigerator plugged in to keep your food safe, of course) - your coffee maker, TV, stereo, computer, etc.  Use a power strip so you just need to switch off one button to turn off many appliances.

Replace all your incadescent light bulbs with the CFL bulbs & don't turn on lights until you come into a room, then turn them off when you leave the room.

Insulate your house, seal all cracks, put foam or gaskets inside each electric outlet, insulate your water heater tank & plumbing pipes, use double-sided draft guards on doors that have a large bottom gap, keep your thermostate at 72 in the summer & 68 in the winter whenever possible. You can always put on an extra layer of clothing in the winter, or cover in a blanket while watching TV in the evening.

I know there are other ideas, but, hopefully, some of these will get you started.

  7. One of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce your carbon footprint is to change as many as possible of your light-bulbs to fluorescent ones. They last longer and need vastly less energy to produce the same amount of light as tungsten bulbs do. Plus they come in a multitude of varieties that mimic different forms of light - so now you don't have to settle for that blinding white light still used in offices.

Another way to reduce your carbon footprint is to switch to notebook computers. They are designed for power efficiency because makers have to design for portability. (But remember to RECYCLE your old desktop - electronic waste can be some of the most dangerous!)

Yet another way is to drive less. Take a walk to the store if it's in a good walking distance, or ride a bike - hey, you can get a mean exercise and save the planet too. I wouldn't make the hybrid or electric car jump just yet; currently they make just a small dent in a consumer's footprint, but hopefully in a few years engineers will make them much more viable - ‘till then, I’d just wait and walk.

  8. I installed a 20kw wind turbine to make all my own electricity and sell enough back to the power company to supply 2 more homes.

  9. Wipe the carbon off your feet.
