For chemistry, I got a formula:

ΔH = mCΔT

I know that ΔH stands for enthalpy change, but what do the others stand for?

  1. yes delta H = enthalpy

    m is the mass (usually in grams)

    c specific heat= quantity of heat necessary to increase the temperature of 1 g of 1 degree

    delta T (is Tf -Ti) where Tf is final temperature and Ti initial temperature . Important notice : you can use celsius or absolute degrees (NOT FAHRENHEIT) And the sign tells you if you have negative or positve energy

  2. ΔH is also reffered to as Q this is more when you get to thermodynamics

  3. m=mass

    C=specific heat capacity

    ΔT=change in temperature(final temperature minus initial temperature)
