Mechanics Lein?

Question

If a mechanics lein is transferred to a surety bond, what is the process after this.

Long story short my builder has not paid two people and they have placed leins on the property. I see my state law says I can transfer this to a bond, just not sure exactly what happens after that is done.

You're going to have to personally guarantee the bond, so that if it gets called in by those two people, you'll have to pay the bill.

In other words, it's NOT going to get YOU off the hook for paying those two contractors.  

You're going to have to sue your builder for the amounts, so that you can clear the leins.

I'm not either, but I wonder how the unpaid people can put any kind of lien on something that is yours and not the person they work for.
