  1. focus on a science major.  talk to your adviser.

  2. I'm about to enter college this Fall and I'm going Pre-Med with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry and Leadership (a minor offered here in my college). I heard we're going to take Biochemistry our first year of med school and so that is one class you'd want to take in college for sure. Most medical schools require general Biology, two years of Chemistry one being organic and one inorganic, general Physics, Statistics or Calculus, and just your basic classes as well as taking your MCAT exams and keeping a good GPA. I have looked into several med schools here in Texas for myself and they're all basically looking for people who can work hard and have good volunteer hours as well. They don't judge based on what major and minor you chose as long as you take those science classes. They look into your gender, ethnicity, GPA average, science GPA average, MCAT scores and volunteer hours. The degree doesn't matter, it is what you do during college that they really take a look at. Most people have science degrees though in case you really wanted to know. Biology and Chemistry.

  3. Most will come from the bio major as it's a very large department on campus and so has plenty of class options, making it very flexible to tailor your class schedule into.
