EA have sent out invites to a number of parties to attend the official unveiling of Medal of Honor 2 which is set to take place at this year’s Game Developer Conference.
It will come as no surprise that a sequel has been confirmed for the second instalment in the rebirth of the Medal of Honor series. It was something that everyone was expecting and there was plenty of speculation as to when the follow-up would be announced.
It seems that EA has put an end to all of that as they are set to reveal the next game in the series behind closed doors at this year’s Game Developer Conference.
The reveal is scheduled for the 6th of March at 20:00 PST (or 8pm) and as mentioned earlier, is set to take place behind closed doors with only people who have received invites eligible to attend the event.
One can expect plenty of news on the game after the conference as nearly every online review site will be sure to be talking about it and any features or news.
The original Medal of Honor game received a mixed reception with many likening the experience as being too similar to EA and DICE’s other first-person shooter, Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
However, at the same time no one had any complaints when it came to gameplay as many agreed that it was a solid FPS. The single player also had plenty of memorable moments and one of the most fulfilling endings in any modern military game to date.
In fact, it captured the essence of what made titles such as Medal of Honor: Frontline so great.
How the developers, Danger Close, are going to keep the experience fresh is something that everyone will be looking forward to finding out as the original did nothing new in terms of gameplay, but rather seemed like a more polished version of Bad Company 2.
Whatever the case, there is one thing that everyone can be sure of and that is the fact that EA will be looking to make a great first impression otherwise the title can be forgotten in what is already a very competitive market.
