EA announce the release date for the sequel to the reboot of the Medal of Honor series along with an enticing reveal trailer. Danger Close confirmed as sole developers.
Medal of Honor is a game that the current generation of gamers may only know for one game, yet for those who have been playing first-person shooters since the days of the PlayStation One and later on, during the days of the PlayStation 2, well they know
just how important the series has been in their gaming experience.
The game first allowed players to mow down n***s during World War 2 in a number of places including the beaches of Normandy, Berlin, German U-boat pens, underneath the Eiffel Tower and deep in the catacombs of France as well.
However, Medal of Honor Airborne was the last game in the series to be set in the overused World War 2 time period. The reboot to the series however, followed in the footsteps of the Call of Duty and adopted the modern day as its setting.
While the first reboot to the series was not a disaster by any means, it failed to really wow everyone. There were plenty of moments in the game that stood out, including the ending of the game, which really drove home a sense of despair and had players
feel as if they were fighting for their lives, yet such moments were few and far between.
By the looks of the debut trailer for Medal of Honor: Warfighter, it seems that the game is set to continue along the same line of following Tier 1 Operatives as they go about their business saving the world from terrorists hiding in the mountains. This
time around there seems to be suggestion that not all the fighting will take place in the same setting.
Whatever the case, Warfighter seems a promising prospect, yet it will be interesting to see whether or not it can match Battlefield 3’s success.
It seems that we will only find that out after the 23rd of October, which is when the game is scheduled for release.
