Media Center 2005 problems?

I have Media Center 2005, and my TV Tuner card is a hauppage WinTV-PVR 150. I keep gettng a decoder error when I try to go to the TV in the media center. I was having problems with the card earlier, I wasnt getting any sound, but I was getting video. I was able to record, but it wouldnt do me any good if I couldnt hear it. I reinstalled the OS on another operating system, updated the Tuner driver. Now I get a decoder error, and I cant even view the stuff that I recorded earler.. Any suggestions on what I should do now? I habe the card hooked up through componet cables, I am going to try hooking it up another way tomorrow, and see if I get the same results.

I'm pretty sure that you will get more and better quality answers to your primarily computer related questions, like this one, if you post in one of the sub-forums of the YA "Computers & Internet" forum, where all the people with real expertise in that subject hang out.

i have the same OS and the same tuner card. try using the coax. instead of the component input. it will not handle a high def input. you need to run through the set up in media center to tell it how to use the tuner card. it will default to the coax cable.
