"discuss how fans are literally fanatical consumers of media personalities".

basically this question asks 'in what ways do fans become consumers of celebrities or people in the public eye?' how do fans show their support and appreciation for a particular footballer, singer, actor, actress etc?. answers would include buying cds, records and dvds, posters, getting autographs, create fan sites.

it is also related to advertising especially because it is through the media and advertising that fans become consumers. likewise after watching a tv show, film, listen to a record, they see an advert promoting a product and one would go out and purchase it afterwards.

by consuming media based products, he/she is buying the media personality as well as the notion that goes into forming what makes a celebrity a celebrity and how fans relate to him/her. hope this helps
