If a media source doesn't tell you what you want to hear, is it biased? Likewise, if it tells you what you want, is it objective?

No.

Objectivity and subjective reports (editoralizing) have nothing to do with reader opinions.

News comes in two flavors -- news we want to know and news we need to know.

If the news media source does not tell you all you want to know, then perhaps the reporting is faulty or the news hole is just too constraining.
