  1. Media's only responsibility is to entertain, and occasionally inform. (Frequently, misinform.)

  2. .

The three estates of 19th century democracy (in Britain) were the

    1. clergy

    2. nobles

    3.commoners

Then Edmund Burke, looking up at the Press Gallery of the House of Commons, said, 'Yonder sits the Fourth Estate, and they are more important than them all.'

Since then the media have been the major source of information about what parliaments and polticians are doing.

    .

Today as we now live in a global society the media have an even greater responsibility to keep us informed.

Howewever because we live in a consumer age 'the  information' function of the press has been converted into 'infotainment' which undermines that function.

Nevertheless there are still some sections of the media which still do a fairly good job of enabling us to keep check on whats going on.

So I'd so yes they do have  that respsonsiblity but we have the responsibility too for looking out for those sections of the media we can rely on.

  3. it isnt media's main responsibility but to a certain extent the influence media can generate if used in good means, can help to make a healthy society.

whatever it promotes and how they promote it does affect the society.

  4. I think you are asking if it is media's responsibility to make a healthy society. If so, I say no. It is the responsibility of parents and families.

  5. That would be an individuals responsibility.
