Media sets aside two top class sportsmen: Tiger Woods and Roger Federer

“Tiger Wood is a receding, thirty four years old player battling his form, his mosey, his courage, his past as well as his golden time”.
This is the line that one of the recent articles stated that shows how punitive the media can be, although the overall article was pretty civilized however the way some of the points were highlighted was way too captious. The article simply represents how much the writer detests Tiger woods. If he has showed anything up until this stage in his profession al life, it is that ‘logical points’ do not actually associate to him with reference to the game of golf. However, the boy is extremely famous for what he did off the court recently, however in the end we all commit mistakes and the man has already paid a huge moving and economic price for whatever Tiger did.
Woods had to give his better half $750 million as a result of divorce. The man has lost a couple of sponsors and his sports has also affected to a great extent since he returned this season at The Masters. Similar to Federer, Woods has had one of his pathetic patches of career since the start of the season.
Tiger stands at 0 from 6, whereas Roger Federer is one from eleven in championships victories. Federer did manage to grab a Grand Slam title towards the start of this year however since then he has been facing a bad patch of his professional career. Woods is thirty four years of age while the Swiss tennis player Tiger Woods has turned twenty eight.
Both of the professional sportsmen are at a point in their professional life where they have already experienced the height of success, yet both can rarely be written off.
As far as golf is concerned, it may be difficult to grab majors after the age of thirty five, even then Tom Watson ended second at the British Open previous season with fifty nine years of age.
Woods has captured a total of fourteen major trophies so far in his career, four behind the top golf player Jack Nicklaus. The article stated that only two golf player have gained more than two major trophies after turning as old as thirty six years of age, yet Wood is even still only thirty four years of age. He is going through a bad patch which is highly likely, yet following season he will just be thirty five so the man can comfortably grab some more titles in 2011.
As far as the physical fitness is concerned, Tiger is perhaps the most powerful golf player of all times. If there is any player who can perform the very best even at an old age, it is definitely no one else but the great, Tiger Wood. It has always been Wood’s ambition to surpass Nicklaus’ major record. It was nearly as is Tiger came into this world to accomplish his goals.
Federer has this similar sense of motivation and ambition. Moreover, he also faced a similar phase that Woods experienced in his life. At the start of last year, he was on a total of thirteen majors, one behind the pistol Pete and nothing was going on his way after facing another heart breaking defeat at the hands of Rafael Nadal in the final of the Australian Open championship. After the defeat back in 2008 at the grass court Grand Slam tournament at the hands of Rafa, the Australian Open defeat appeared as the last nail in the casket and there was much discussion on whether Federer would even level the Pete’s record or not.
Even then, Federer won a total of three more Grand Slam titles and is clearly two ahead of Pete Sampras now. In spite of all this, the man is still being written off once again.
Talking about Woods, it is definitely extremely silly to write off sportsman of Federer as well as Woods’ magnitude. These players simply have something unique about them. Although Woods has not managed to level the record like Roger has, he has surely a greater period of time left in the sports of golf than Federer has in the game of tennis. Yet it is not the personal life of Federer unlike Woods that effect’s his game but his professional one which people worry about.
Therefore, it would be extremely foolish of you guys to believe on media statements instead we should keep our hopes high knowing completely the class and calibre of these world class players. Because media plays a big role and perhaps it is the culprit which de-motivates these stars into depression and actually believing that they are probably going down under. Let’s hope not and wish them well to rise and shine once again.
