Mediacom: The Weather Channel?

My family is talking about getting Mediacom. I was just wondering, On the weather channel, do you get your LOCAL on the 8's??? Or is it the same as dish and all you get is all the big cities in the US?? I want LOCAL on the 8's!!

I have Mediacom and it's really great with the Weather Channel, you do get the local on the 8's as well as local news ribbon running along the bottom in case of bad weather, watches, warnings, etc. I hate dish.
