Medical Card ready to chase victory in Handicap Chase
Medical Card looks to be the strongest runner on the card of Aon Handicap Chase (Grade A), a high-voltage Irish contest that will take place at Punchestown racecourse on Tuesday, May 8. The action is set to start at 5:50 (GMT) on the Good To Soft track of
2 miles and 5 furlongs.
For the prize cheque of €46,500, the Noel Meade-trained bay gelding will test his credentials against a dozen of rivals including Foildubh, Call The Police, Ninetieth Minute, Crash, Gala Dancer, Nearest The Pin, Gates Of Rome, Belle Brook, Paradise De Thaix,
Friendly Society, Like Your Style and Pontiac.
Medical Card has won 3 out of his total 15 starts so far. After winning a big race on December 28, 2011, the eight-year-old talented horse finished first in the very next outing on January 21, 2012. These two consecutive triumphs have boosted up the victor’s
morale to a great extent.
Currently, the brilliant son of Flemensfirth out of Me Grannys Endoors is awash with fighting spirit and winning impetus that will lend a great hand to him in the coming contest.
Despite being a non-favourite runner, Medical Card will make a big impact today. His chances to thrive are as high as 90 percent.
However, Call The Police can impede his way towards victory as the W. P. Mullins-trained bay gelding owns the highest odds for the Chase. The maverick horse has 4 epic triumphs to his name. His last success came on November 26, 2011. However, he performed
well in each of the three races during the last three months.
Foildubh is also likely to do well in the coming contest. The John Patrick Ryan-trained bay gelding excellently finished first in his last start on April 28, 2012. Prior to this, he had gained a runner-up position on April 10. Overall he has won 5 of his
20 starts so far.
In the light of the above analysis, it is predicted that there will be a rip-roaring clash in the race. Medical Card will have to fight hard to survive. Good luck to all the runners.
