If you check this website it will tell you exactly what will be required for your medical check up for your visa  to new Zealand.Note it tells you to go to Student health with several things such as passport, any medications you need, contact lenses etc. If you read carefully this should answer your question.

  2. i think its just like a basic medical, like you would get if you were to start a new job. its really a medical to prove that you are fit enough to work and not sponge off the government, and also so you wont have any kind of medical condition that requires alot of government assistance. You have to do a new medical each time you renew your visa

  3. I am flying to New Zealand tomorrow afternoon from england. Im off to stay in Christchurch and have had to apply for a two year working visa.

In order for me to be accepted i had to have a medical, i thought that this would be cheap and available from my local GP but i was wrong.

I had to go to a Doctor that is registered with the New Zealand Visa Bureau and this ended up costing me £400.

The medical isnt anything strenous. I had to have a chest X-ray (£80)

Fill in a medical form with the doctor (£150)

6 Blood tests (Each one costing £20, so £120 in total.

This then had VAT added on. Wasnt happy about price but it seems like you are stuck with paying it.

    Hope this answers your question
